This is a
plein aire painting done
alla prima, or all at the first sitting, at the Austin Country Club last week. My dear friend Janine, who is a member, arranged for us to paint there all morning and afternoon, and have a delightful lunch, to boot! Weather was great, friends were nearby, and my iPhone's iPod provided music to get me into the groove. I don't often like what I paint out-of-doors, but this turned out better than most, I have to say.
Pastel, 9x12

Sweet! Lemme know when you paint the course again...I'd love to join you!
Way to go. . . and I know that your "real" painting looks even better than your post shows. You did great work that day. Wish I could say the same about the painting I did. Ha
I'm proud of you!!!

Very nice, sue. Great job on the rocks and trees.
Thank you, Ladies, it was mainly about the experience that day, maybe that's the secret to having any success with plein air! And yes, will definitely keep you in mind for the next paint-out, 'Zanne
I am far behind in my comments. Congrats on the review in the Pastel Journal!!! That's so great!
